The children have been bringing in leaves, conkers and acorns every day! They have asked to change our Pirate ship into an “underground land.” They want to make some leaf prints and find out about Autumn.

A beautiful red Autumn leaf – but to which tree does it belong?
Primary 2′s did a bit of this last year (although they still want to play in the underground land!) so we have decided to make an Autumn project in a ring binder. They will be given little research projects to do about animals, make some fact sheets to tell people which kind of leaves belong to which kind of trees, make some graphs about the weather in Autumn time and Fergus asked for a section about celebrations in Autumn. They would also like a bit of the folder where they can put work that they do at home. WOW!
We worked with our Talking Partners to share what we knew about Autumn. Next week we are going to think of some Autumn questions we would like to answer.

We have a Talking Partner to help us think and discuss our learning. We change our partner every week.

Great work today Primary 1/2. I loved your Autumn pictures and lists and am really looking forward to seeing the “underground land”. I wonder what will be in it?
