Hello from Benmore!
The journey yesterday went very smoothly. Everyone was cheerful and enjoyed the stunning views as we drove up the side of Loch Lomond. We were very excited to get to camp and realise we were staying in a castle in beautiful grounds. We set out to explore and within minutes were wet and muddy as we crawled through pipes and underground streams!
Last night everyone took part in the night line, which involved working as a team to navigate a path through the woods in the pitch dark. Luckily it was a starry night or we might still be out there!
Today the groups have got on with lots of different activities, including biking, caving and climbing. Each group has come back at lunch and dinner with lots of fab stories.
” The mountain biking was amazing. We went down puddle lane through the puddles and got really muddy!” (Tiegan M)
” My favourite was the rocking climbing and abseiling. I climbed up 48 metres! I felt really proud!” (Amy T)
“I loved the abseiling, it was fun!” (Lomond)
“I did really well at the orienteering” (Samuel)
This evening everyone has took part in a ‘Hunt the Teacher’ competition which involved all the teachers hiding around the castle grounds and the pupils hunting us down. Well done Mrs Siday who was the best hider, Miss Johnson wore cream trousers which gave her away!
The computer system here is very slow (no broadband!) which is making down loading pictures very slow, hopefully we can get some up tomorrow.
Any worried parents – All 47 pupils are really enjoying themselves, eating well and happy. No homesickness yet!

Wednesday
We have had another very successful day of activities. This morning was dry and mild, although all the people who braved the river on the gorge walk might not have thought so!
” Camp has been really good, the food is immense especially the chicken curry! All the activities have been very fun. I can’t wait for gorge walking tomorrow!” (Cameron M)
” Camp has been very exciting for me. I have already conquered one of my fears – heights by climbing a 50 foot cliff! The food has been really good. I loved the curry too! I went gorge walking today. I got absolutely soaking and it was amazing!” (Shaun D)
“Hi everyone! Camp is perfect and safe and the instructors are crazy good! My best bit so far was orienteering because me and Cameron M and Lewis and Mrs Middlehurst won our group!” (Adam)
” I have had lots of fun and enjoyed lots of activities. My favourite so far was the climbing. I have been brave joining in all of the activities, biking, walking to the top of a mountain and abseiling in a cave!” (Matthew B)
On Wednesday I went gorge walking. It was lots of fun but I got very wet! We have a great dorm room and we’ve managed to keep it tidy! (Sean M)
I’ve had a great week at camp. Not even having a bruised knee has stopped me having fun. My highlight was the caving, I went right through the cave and was brave! (Lauren J)

Hey Mariam,
Can’t wait to see you and hear all your news about camp. Amar wakened at 5am this morning he was so excited you’re coming home. He says he misses your cuddles. The boys made a cake for you last night with blue icing on it… but it looked so yummy they ate it! Don’t worry though, I’ll make another one for you. Wadie says I’ve to put pink icing this time.
