This Glow Meet is appropriate for all early years practitioners.

Building the Curriculum 4 supports the planning, design and delivery of the curriculum in early years establishments, schools and colleges. It sets out skills for learning, life and work demonstrating how they are embedded in the experiences and outcomes.

Can we build employability skills in the early years? Should we be thinking about these within the early level? During the session we will speak to a practitioner who, in partnership with her colleagues, helps children develop the skills they need for their life now and in the future.

A key aim of this Glow Meet will be to promote discussion and to inspire practitioners to explore different approaches to skills development in the early years. Participants will have the chance to ask the panel questions and share ideas.

This is going to be arranged via the Literacy Advisors Glow group, which will be made accessible nationally.

The speaker will be Debbie Gardner of Garnock Academy who was involved in Write at Home (a project assisting writing across all sectors) and is doing some very interesting work with parents using Glow as well as transitions moderation, all of which she will speak about and answer questions on.

Glow will be filming and transmitting the event via Glow Meet to enable pupils from other areas of Scotland to see the event on Monday 9^th May.

SCOTTISH CRIME AND DRUG ENFORCEMENT AGENCY

We aim to provide a flexible service to meet the needs of individual teachers. Our programme uses primary sources of evidence held in the National Archives of Scotland (NAS) and supports Curriculum for Excellence and National Qualifications.
The NAS has guest access to Glow. If you are too far away to visit us for a workshop in Edinburgh, book a Glow Meet or video conferencing session with us. Each session runs for about 30 minutes. Each workshop runs for 2 hours.

Tam Baillie, Scotland's Commissioner for Children & Young People

Join Tam Baillie, Scotland’s Commissioner for Children and Young People for a Glow Meet hosted by Campie Primary School in Musselburgh on Wednesday, September 15th at 11am.

Join Tam and the pupils of the school as they make right brilliant things (and find out how you can too!). Tam will be talking about how you can get involved in ‘a RIGHT blether’ and how you can get ready to vote in November.

Tam will also be answering YOUR questions so make sure that you can join us that day. You can also leave questions.
