A big thank you for coming along to the Soup Lunch following the Easter Assembly. There were some tasty soups and delicious home baking to enjoy along with a cuppa.  The children enjoyed the lucky dip and the children’s raffle and there was a fantastic luxury hamper too.  All this contributed to a fantastic £300 being raised, so many thanks again.

Please come and join us for some hearty homemade soup and crusty bread or a cuppa and a cake straight after the Easter assembly on Friday 22nd March at 12pm.  There will also be an Easter Bonnet / Baseball Cap Competion, a raffle for a luxury hamper and a fun filled Easter lucky dip.

The Christmas Fayre is on Saturday 2^nd of December and is shaping up to be a great event.  There will be some fantastic stalls: home – baking; childrens’ games & crafts; gift ideas for Christmas as well as our fantastic raffle.  Hopefully Santa will be coming along with his sack too!  So come along, enjoy a cuppa and support the school.

I think everyone will agree that the Halloween party on Thursday night was an outstanding success.  It was great to see so many pupils there enjoying all the fun & games and spooky snacks.  There were some fantastic costumes and amazing pumpkins.  As always, parents and staff worked hard to make the night such a success and nearly £200 was raised towards school funds.  A special note of thanks to Lorna Forsyth and George Campbell, whose skills made the night!

Dear Parents and Carers of West Barns Primary

The Parent Council are hoping to hold a Halloween Party on the above date in the school.  There will be lots of spooky fun & games for pupils from Primary 1 to 7 and further details will be sent home via a flyer in school bags.

We are looking for volunteers to help either in the lead up or on the night i.e. setting up the hall, making spooky snacks or playing some Halloween themed games.  If you have any spooky or scary skills please don’t be shy – you will be in much demand!  Also, you may have a skill that you may not realise we are looking for… Are you a budding DJ / Compare?  If you are able to help in any way please complete the slip below and hand it to any Parent Council member, or Lorna at the office by the 7th October.  We will then be organising ourselves in terms of who is doing what!

Your support and generosity is important as all monies raised go directly to the benefit of our children.

West Barns Parent Council

The sun shone on West Barns on Friday and both events were a great success.  Sports Day included an interesting addition of a parents’ egg & spoon race!  The sale of refreshments raised £165 towards the Playground Fund.

A few hours later we were back on the playing fields!  The rain held off and we were able to enjoy the view, the company and the queue for burgers!!  A fantastic £210 was raised, which again will go towards the Playground Fund.

Thanks to everyone that helped in any way.  It was certainly a very busy day but a great day to be part of West Barns Primary School.
