At the end of the day, we had had so much fun with our spelling words that Miss Reilly gave us another challenge. We had to make one of our common words using different equipment from the P.E cupboard. We had bands, skittleball towers, balls, hoops and hockey sticks. We worked in groups to make the word ‘would’. Mrs Kavanagh came to see our words, she thought they were fantastic!

Today we practised some of the common words that we have been learning. Every week we do something fun with our spelling words, sometimes we paint our words, type our words or even make the shape of our letters using seeds! Today we took advantage of the lovely weather and went outside to write our words using chalk.

We have really enjoyed this topic, we liked being able to design and make decisions about our shoes and we liked learning about the many different types of shoes there are in the world.

Shoe Museum Opens To Parents on PhotoPeach
I hope you all have a lovely break and come back to school raring to go with our new topic. Can you think of what we are going to make? We will touch it as we make it, but when it’s finished we won’t be able to touch it anymore? You’ll have to come back to school to find out!
This term P2/3 have been working hard to make their own shoes as part of our Soft Shoe Shuffle topic. We have really enjoyed our topic and now we have a final product!
Today children from the nursery and P1/2 came to visit us and we showed them our shoes. We talked about the different stages of how to make a shoe and explained the decisions we had to make in the production process.
