Now that the weather is getting better, Primary 4/5 will be taking part in a range of sporting activities. The Primary 4 children are coming to the end of their swimming lessons with only a couple more sessions to go. We have all been practising our skipping skills for the Jump Rope for Heart event on 22nd and 23rd March. Some of us have been visiting the Nursery to work with them on skipping games such as “Wiggly Snakes.” The rest of us have been learning new skipping techniques so that we can teach them to the rest of the school. We will soon take home our sponsorship forms as we need to ask friends and family for their support for our 5 minute skipping challenge. So far we have only managed to skip for just over a minute. It’s exhausting stuff!
On Monday 12th March we will take part in the first of a series of Basketball taster lessons. We are hoping to take part in the Basketball festival later in the season. We have a whole school walk to the seawall on 16th March and a Rugby session on 20th March. Miss Chapman is also busy arranging golf sessions. Well that should keep us fit and healthy over the next few weeks.
Please remember to have you full gym kit in school on these days and on Wednesdays for your weekly gym lessons.
It is still chilly outside so feel free to bring gloves and hats to keep you warm, tracksuit bottoms and suitable sporting footwear.
