Reminder: Meeting Wednesday

Hello everyone,

This is just a reminder about the meeting at 6.30pm in Wallyford Primary School, on Wednesday 12th June, to find out about how East Lothian Council are supporting the school while they actively recruit a permanent management team. (Head, Depute and Principle Teacher) We hope that there will be time to discuss any other business that you might like to bring up, and for Mhairi to introduce to us the school improvement plan.

Update on Head Teacher Appointment

We want to let everyone know that East Lothian Council are carrying forward the recruitment campaign for a Head Teacher for the school into the next school term, and so the advertisement for a new Head Teacher will be re-issued in the next session.

In the mean time there will be a special meeting in June to meet with representative(s) from East Lothian Council and discuss how the school will be supported as we move ahead. That meeting is set for 6.30pm on 12th June in the school.

Also at the moment, as Mhairi Stratton’s letter explained last week, East Lothian Council are actively recruiting an Acting Depute Head Teacher and an Acting Principle Teacher at the moment.

IMPORTANT: Meeting For Parents/Carers

We invite all parents and carers to a meeting to discuss what we as a parent/carer body are looking for in a new Head Teacher for the school.
There will be no School staff or local Councillors invited to this meeting, and everyone will have the opportunity to express their views. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of the school, so if you are free on Wednesday 15th May at 6.30pm, please come to the GP room in the school, behind the stage, for an hour.
We will also be sharing more information about the process of appointments, including timescales.  If you are not able to come but would like to share an opinion, please e-mail wallyfordpf@gmail.com or speak to someone you know who will be able to go to the meeting.
Please share this information with others whom you know will be interested. Stickers will also go out next week to publicise this opportunity.

Reminder For Next Gathering

The next gathering is this Wednesday night at 6.30pm in the cofferoom at the school.

We will be hearing about developments with the School Improvement Plan from Debbie, and then together looking at ways to improve communication from the Forum to all members of the Parent/Carer body.
There will of course be time to discuss any other important issues affecting the school, so look forward to seeing you there again. If you know of anyone who might like to come along and join in, please feel free to bring them along.
