P2/3

Hello,

Some of us had some strange things growing from our noses and our heads today!  Others dressed down for Comic Relief.

This week we have been learning about the Pharaohs of Egypt.  We read a passage during our shared text and then role played the life of a Pharaoh.  We learnt that Pharaohs wore long robes, headdresses and sandals.   We also gathered information for our Biography of a Pharaoh by using the laptops and information books on Egypt.

In art we painted portraits of Pharaohs.  We had to make sure that our paintings had stripey headdresses.  The faces had to have the features in the correct place and that the protrait had big, black eyes because Pharaohs wore make-up.  Some of us were surprised that even the male Pharaohs wore make-up.  The Egyptians wore make-up on their lips to protect them from the sun so that they wouldn’t get burnt.

Brodi, Camerin and Felicity placed the grass, pyramids and desert on the map of Egypt correctly this week.  Well done!

We have been learning to write s and x in cursive script this week.  We found these letters a little tricky and are going to keep practising them.

Bye for now.
