Olympic Torches

Posted by Moira Gilbert on 07/06/2012

The children were recently set a homework challenge to make an Olympic Torch that could be carried during the celebrations due to take place when the real Olympic Torch is carried through Musselburgh on the 14th June. The children showed their torches at assembly and Mrs Fleming will be announcing the winners at the school fair on Friday 8th June. The torches are currently being displayed in the front corridor of the school and look like they are already lining the streets of Musselburgh.

Every one put a lot effort into it

  2.   K Fleming Says:

Miss Maclaughlan and I had a very difficult job choosing the winners of our Olympic Torch competition as they were all so impressive. We hope you like the ones we have picked. Congratulations to all of the Class Winners and especially to Abbie in P3 who was the overall winner for the Burgh. Abbie’s torch will be visiting the Musselburgh schools along with the winning torches from the other Musselburgh schools. It will arrive at the Burgh with a group of children from Whitecraig at around 10.30 on Thursday 14th June after we have all been to see the official Olympic Torch. Please come along, if you can, to welcome the Musselburgh Olympic Torch Relay to the Burgh.

Well done to all the Torch Winners! But I have to say ALL the torches look fantastic. Its a great idea to have them all on display in the front corridor – it looks so colourful and festive.
    Well done everyone.
