On Monday 27th February P3Pand P2/3 took part in Unicef’s Day for Change 2012 which focused on raising funds for sports development in Uganda. The children held a school assembly and asked the school to wear their sports clothes to school for a day and bring £1.00p.There was a massive response ! The class then took part in whacky races and asked friends and families to sponsor them .The children had fun completing the whacky races organised by Mr Johnson the PE specialist .The children also enjoyed performing a Day For Change assembly for their parents. The children also asked teachers to take part by choosing a sport and paying a £1.00p.The winning sport is yet to be announced !
Thank you to all who supported us wearing their sports clothes for the day, those that bought a sport and to Mr Johnson and the P7′s who helped with the whacky races and Mrs Coupland who set up our display . Watch this space …… to find out how much we raised for sport development in Uganda!
