I would also like you to pose a fat question about the book for your group to answer and, of course, that means answering other people’s questions too.

I hope you’re enjoying reading the blog as much as I am and I’m so pleased that you all seem to be enjoying the books we’ve bought for you.

For this week’s homework task I would like you to treat the blog site as if it were an online literature circle. Talk about bits you liked or didn’t like and make sure you explain why. Talk about the writer’s style, do you enjoy their style of writing? Why? What do you think of the characters in the book? What would you do if you were in their shoes? And of course, my favourite bit, discuss any predictions that you might have making sure that you back them up with evidence from the text. Of course, you can send as many comments to the site as you want but just make sure you get at least one down before Friday. Happy blogging!

* The front cover. Did the design excite you? Why? Does it help you to make any predictions about the theme/ content of the book?

* The author. Have you read any other books by this author? What did you think?

* The first few chapters. Has the story managed to hook you in already? If so, in what ways? If not, why not?

* Questions. Do you have any questions to ask your group that you are unsure of? Perhaps you are confused or having difficulty understanding a part of the story.

* Predictions. Perhaps you would like to make a prediction about what will happen in the next chapter. As always, the best predictions are backed up with evidence from the text.
