Hello everyone,

On Thursday we learnt about Martinez which is in California. We were learning about it because John Muir lived in Martinez. We had to find it on a map which for some people was easy and others found it a bit tricky.

“I enjoyed looking at the map on google maps about  California,” said Lewis.

“I enjoyed looking at the map as well and learning about Martinez because it was so much fun and we considered contacting a school in Martinez!” said Megan.

We all enjoyed the task and we hope we can contact a school in Martinez because we would like to know if they know lots about John Muir like we do or maybe more! We discussed lots of ideas such as:

email, pen pals, letters, photos and lots more! Lets hope we have lots of luck

Last week the p7`s went to Dounans camp.we all enjoyed it and we have loads of new friends. It was at Aberfoyle. Indias favorite part was  when  she  did the tree climb, she went up to 14 metres. Mhairi`s favorite part was when she did the catwalk and got all muddy! That was the best part!

We went  on the 4th of  October until  the 8th of   October. We loved the food because is was so sweet except from the breakfast it was  too  fatty . Our dorms were very small and cozy.At the disco we were listening to music or at least trying to! P6`s  should be looking forward to going there its amazing .

Dear Readers,

About a week ago, Lewis managed to get better at his swimming. He can now do breast-stroke much better. Lewis is very proud of his achievement and in the future, he hopes to be able to help other people learn how to swim.

On Friday Megan overcame her fear of climbing a tree with the support of her friends, Mhairi and Katrina. She is very proud of her achievement and so is her family. This will help her with some of the tasks for when she goes to Dounans in 1 week and 5 days! Megan hopes that she will be able to help younger children in future to conquer their fears!

“Stenton schools latest news”

Dear Viewers,

On Saturday 4th September it was the Stenton Flower Show. Lots of entries went in and the P4-7 class did watercolour pictures based on ‘A Rainforest Garden’. First place was Yasmin Scott, second place was Megan Smith and third place was Mhairi McDonald. Lots of other exciting things were entered and lots of people did very well. It was a huge success and everyone enjoyed it.

Here are some quotes.

“We won lots and we were very proud and enjoyed seeing people achieve lots,” said Izzy and Mhairi.

“I was very proud because my picture was highly recommended,” said William.

We are all looking forward to the next Flower Show in 2011.
