This week the p1/2/3 class have been doing all about floating and sinking . They made some boats with clay and put water in a tray . Stones were then put in the boats and they saw how many stones the boats could take before they sank .Tommy and Alisha’s boats lasted the longest .
The class had a lovely day for their weekly power walk where they collected more leaves and conkers for their autumn display which can be seen in the dining hall .
P1/2/3 had a very nice supply teacher last monday when Miss Finlayson was off ill . Her name was Mrs Weeks and she has been in before with the big class .
Today the p1/2/3 class practised their songs for the harvest festival .They are really enjoying these songs as they think they are very cheery .
A number of Stenton children are awaiting their date through to sit their test for Dunbar swimming club . We will keep you posted as to how they all get on . GOOD LUCK.
Unfortunately Rachel Salkelds guinea pig died this week . She was very sad .
The school took delivery this week of new flourescent chalk , chinese skipping and Cats cradle . These are proving very popular with all the pupils including the boys .
Rachel has been moved up to a new reading group so congractulations to her . A new purple group has been created for the p1 reading .
P1-P3 have been learning new songs today with Ms Finlayson. Tommy and John liked the new songs.
John went to ToysRUs on Saturday with his dad and bought a new lego toy. On Monday John went to his swimming lesson at Dunbar pool. Tommy went swimming with his dad on Saturday, and has his lessons on Thursdays. Tommy can swim 4 lengths.
Tommy and John have been learning about floating and sinking in school. They made lots of different shapes with playdough and tested whether they floated or sank.
The children have now got new toys for the playground – cats cradle and glow in the dark chalk.
