On Sunday in Yangon, we met with Dr Thein Lwin and 2 of his colleagues. We have known Dr Thein Lwin since 2006. I have delivered training with him to Burmese and other Ethnic group teachers over the years in Chiang Mai, where he has been based, and in Mae Sot. He trains Burmese teachers to deliver Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking. (www.thinkingclassroom.org) Dr Thein Lwin is returning to live in Burma, partly to establish the Thinking Classroomm Foundation here and partly to work with Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s party, the NLD, National League for Democracy. He is a wise, educated gentleman who is full of courage and is dedicated to improving life and education for all in Burma. David and Gaynor were able to meet him and have some time to chat too.
