We arrived safely at 0935 Tuesday in Bangkok. We’re staying in a lovely hotel on the river opposite Bangkok. Fascinating to watch the cargo/passenger boats going up and down this river. Could visualise the Boatie Blest going up and down here!
Cracking storm soon after we arrived, made great viewing from our balcony. Sun is out now so we hope to swim (not in the manky river!) then take the hotel boat across to Bangkok.
These 3 days are the holiday bit of our trip so we are being very lazy, gathering strength for the fortnight ahead. Heard last night that I am training 50 teachers in Emotional Literacy on Monday but won’t think about that till Friday! Off to swim.

Great way of following your adventure.
Glad you are having a little time to unwind.
I am still trying to obtain a passport!
Build up your strength for the next part of your trip with Gaynor and family.

It’s raining here in Kanchanaburi too! Kids are in the pool and have driven away the poor couple who were in there.
Had a great day today, swimming in beautiful pools with waterfalls behind us, elephant riding and river rafting. Awesome. The day was marred by the minibus running over a dog, and the driver and guide finding this hilarious. Poor Maya was in the front and really upset. You could buy 3 puppies for 100 baht at the night market we went to last night, so I suppose life’s cheap for our four-legged friends. Sheila, I hope you’re not planning sending Dylan over!
Looking forward to seeing you both on Friday. Did you get your lift from the airport sorted?
