The children decided that it would be special to take their lunch to the woods for their final visit and luckily the sun shone for us and we were able to enjoy a picnic under the trees. After lunch they relaxed by lying on their backs and looking into the tree tops. They spotted nests in the upper branches and clouds of different and interesting shapes. We then took a walk around the woods looking for different items as we went. We found pine cones nibbled by mice and squirrels, feathers, flowers and leaves which had been eaten by caterpillars. We then made paint by crushing berries and used sticks, cones and leaves to create patterns and pictures. It was a lovely afternoon and we look forward to visiting again next year.
