Friday’s Race Night at the Ross High Rugby Football Club proved a success with nearly £400 raised. The Race Night was organised by the Parent Council.
The crowd was small, but there was a lively atmosphere following a few wins by the punters at the bar. There was excitement for all races and it was obvious that many horse owners had thought seriously about the horse names. “Matt Vinyl and the Decorators”; “Red Hot Filly Peppers”; “May the Horse be with you” and my favourite, “Insane Bolt “. It was the final big money race that proved the highlight with the crowd “horse” from shouting!
Thanks to all those who donated raffle prizes. It was noted that the Collins Family went away with an embarrassingly large raffle booty, mostly of the alcoholic kind.
Special thanks to Mark Urwin for running the show.
