Higher Graphic Communication

Pupils study for their Higher Graphic Communication over two years in S4 and S5. In this time they pick up high level skills in using Autodesk Inventor – a 3D modelling software capable of very complex work. They also develop their drawing skills and learn a large variety of drawing styles.

The course is tested with an SQA exam at the end of 5th year, but pupils also work on a Thematic Presentation. This folio of work is based on a single artefact is made up of a variety of sketches and computer generated drawings. This folio is assessed by the class teacher but can be checked by the SQA.
