First up on the board for 2008/9 S3 GC “HOW 2…” Posters

Miss Hobans class have just completed a storyboard each as part of their SG folios. A massive amount of effort and creativity has gone into these as the results show and are proving difficult to judge! To help, the class are taking part in online peer assessment by reviewing each others work (constructively!). This activity is invaluable for all students as these comments will help positively inform the next piece of creative folio work. Thanks to my class for your hard work….keep it up!

  2. Jessica Reilly says:

very good folio peices, good layouts, brightly coloured and great design ideas.

Well i think that timothy’s stands out.
I like the background. I think this really makes the “how to” look better
I also like how he has put a orange zig zag theme throughout the “how to”
One thing that i would change is maybe the title. It is quite akward to read.

Another one i like is Lachlan’s
I especially like how he has put homer simpson as a big picture.
I also like how his title stands out.
One thing that i would change would be ________ ?? ( im not really sure )

My third Poster that i like is Kate’s
I like how she has put the straightners tilted, i think this makes it look better.
Another thing i like is the title, i like the fact that “how 2″ is separate from “straighten your hair” i think this makes the poster ( how to ) look really good.
One thing that i would change would be maybe her discriptions could be a wee bit bigger. But that is all.

I think that everyone has put alot of effort into all of the how 2s, and also they are all very different.
I especially like jessicas because she has put alot of detail on her own drawings and sketched them very well :) there is nothing really that you have to work on.
I liked lachlens too because he has done an easy and simple design but it also looks really good, he has done the illistation of homer very well.
I also like laurens becaues it is quite girly and it looks really cool,it looks like she has put alot of effort into her design well done :D x

  5. Kirsty. says:

I think Jessica did really well with the drawings in her How To.
I also like the wavy title.
One thing I would change would be the colours used.

Thomas also has a good How To.
It stands out because of the green background, and also because of the way the tree has been created. The title also has a good font.
One thing I would change is maybe add a bit of colour to the owl?

    Frazer’s is another good one.
It’s a nice flow of instructions.
Also well done with the drawing of the pictures.
One thing I would change would be the title,
A different font and colour maybe.

my favourite is scotts as i like te background photo and how u have used it as one of the boxes the title is clear and its not to crowded
my next favourite is lachlans as i like the colours and its simple and clear. though you could have coloured all the pictures in
my third favourite is elliots as the pictures are cool and well chosen and its well laid out with clear instructions though u could have used more colour

  7. Sam says:

I like the look of all of these and i like the idea on scotts where he has used a window in the second picture to show a real life picture of a skateboard trick.
I also really like the lay out on Lachlan Wood, Liam McNeil and Conar Murray’s.
I agree with scott, the big orange things around the pictures really contrast with the background. I would say that on Liam’s that it is good but the descriptions could be hard to read so i would make them a bit bigger.

  8. Conar says:

I Like Them all. I think Liams is good as well as sams and jessicas.
I say Liam put alot of effort into is and sam had a good layout. Jessicas was well rendered and drawn. The End

  9. Gavin says:

I like all of the how to posters epesially Scotts as he has made a window to use the background as an actual picture for the how to. Another I like is Sams as he has used the thing you make in the how to. An the last I think stands out is Tims as he has used lettering that really stands out and draws you to the poster.

Well all of the posters were fab…but one of them stood out for me and that was Lachlan’s. The good points that Lachlan’s “how to” poster has are:
    1) it has a super layout
    2) The contrasting colours work great in this poster as it adds a brill effect too.
    3) The large Homer Simpson draws your eye to this poster and makes it all stand out.
    4) The descriptions were full, very detailed and get straight to the point.
Over all very well done, this work was fantabulas :D

Another persons work I thought was great was Jessica’s. The good bits that make hers great are:
    1) The treemendusss illustrations. (you’re gifted with a talent)
    2) Descriptions were very good
    3) Really colourful which made the reader want to find out more
    4) your title was super aswell
    5) Overall the graphics were brill
Really good poster, keep up the hard work.
