Classroom Museum Workshop

This afternoon we were visited by Sarah Cowie who is from Museum Services.  We were able to study some artefacts from WW2.  We had to wear white gloves to handle the artefacts and magnifying glasses to look closely at details.  After we had studied these we wrote detailed labels for each artefact.

While the others are cooking…..

While the others were at cooking, we took the opportunity to do some World War 2 related artwork.  We used charcoal and paint to experiment with different techniques.  Our charcoal sketches turned out really well and we are very proud of them.

Cooking at Preston Lodge High School

Ten pupils from our class have been cooking at Preston Lodge High School on Thursday afternoons.  We have been learning new skills such as how to measure correctly, how to prepare fruit and vegetables safely and how to follow recipes, as well as many more.

We are really enjoying this experience!  The rest of the class can’t wait for their turn.

Orienteering – Thursday 19th Januray

On Thursday 19th January 2012 Primary 7 split into two groups to go orienteering at Yellowcraigs.  We had a huge amount of fun and used many of our ‘Skills for Life’.  Pupils learned how to set and read a map and had to use an electronic ’dabber’ to track their progress.  Jak and Sam were the most successful of the day.

Welcome Back!

Welcome back to your final year, Primary 7! This term we will be studying the topic of WWII. So far we have learned about the causes of the war, main events and focussed on rationing, evacuation and The Blitz. During an evacuation lesson with P7G, Dillon tried on the gas mask. He enjoyed having it on and several others asked to have a go! If anyone would like to try it on, please come and ask!
