HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS
Maths and spelling homework will be given out every Monday and collected in every Thursday. All homework should be signed by a parent or guardian. Due to some pupils persistently not doing homework, any pupils not bringing in homework (without a note from home) will be given a red card. Occasionally topic homework will also be sent home and this will also be posted on the blog.
READING
Group reading books and Book Detective tasks come home every week.
MENTAL MATHS
Times tables need to be practised for 10 minutes each night to reinforce our learning in class. We will be taking part in World Maths Day on 7th March, so brush up on your mental addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in order to train for this event. TYPING

Hi Lauren, I’m glad to see that you are so keen to do more maths at home. From Monday, the 16th you will have a maths task and a spelling task to complete which will be due every Thursday. In addition you will still have your weekly reading task. From time to time, you will also have an additional homework task that is related to our topic. Our next topic will be Scotland and the Slave Trade and there will be some homework related to our topic coming home soon.

Hi Lauren,
On Tuesday I asked you all to take your target words home without your homework files in order to complete your 3 spelling tasks, but please don’t worry. It has been a hectic week preparing for the Eco Fashion Show, so it’s not a problem if you don’t have your homework to hand in tomorrow. We’ll talk about it in class in the morning. I hope you get a good night’s sleep!
