This Week in Primary 7

New topic

On Monday we’ll be starting our new topic, Scotland and the Transatlantic Slave Trade. Please be ready to share what you already know about it and questions that you would like to find answers to during our topic.

PE Kit Reminder

Please make sure you bring in PE kit for Monday and Tuesday. It would be very helpful if every pupil also had outdoor shoes to run in as we will be continuing with our running regime through the winter months as well.

Homework

Maths and spelling homework will be given out every Monday and collected in every Thursday. All homework should be signed by a parent or guardian. Any pupils not bringing in homework without a note from home will be given a red card. Occasionally topic homework will also be sent home.

Plastic Bottle Appeal:

As our plastic bottle greenhouse suffered damage from the high winds over the Christmas break, we are collecting more 2 litre plastic bottles to repair it. Please bring in bottles that have been rinsed clean, with the labels removed in order to help us get the greenhouse repaired as quickly as possible.

Fair Trade Fortnight

As we are celebrating Fair Trade Fortnight this week please bring in empty Fair Trade product containers to add to our classroom display and to enter the whole school competition.

Last Week in P7/ End of Storyline

We made a good start to the new year in Primary 7 last week. Throughout the week we brushed up on our multiplication tables as some of us were a little rusty from the holidays. By working together as a team we improved our whole class multiplication loop card time from 3 minutes and 48 seconds to 3 minutes and 9 seconds! We have set ourselves a new goal for this week of under 3 minutes!

On Friday we also built on our new spirit of team work to finish off our Kidnapped ! storyline. We worked in groups of four to create and present a news report of the storyline ending. Nearly all groups successfully communicated, cooperated and negotiated to decide their roles and content, present and video the report. As this is a huge accomplishment for many, I would just like to say how proud I am of your achievement! Well done Primary 7!

(With the agreement of the actors/actresses we may be able to post an example of their work on Monday!)
