We had a very interesting time today at Pinkie House looking at the Prestonpans Tapestry. We met Arron Johnston again and he was dressed up as a Jacobite soldier. The tapestry and animation we saw was fascinating. The children in P4 are really grateful to the teachers for booking this trip. Thank you also to all our parent helpers.
We thought our first middle area Scots Afternoon was a really good one. We had at least 20 visitors. We had a great time and we sang beautifully. A North Berwick bag-piper came in to start the afternoon. Our Mums and Dads are coming tomorrow at 9.15am to watch. Mr Barnes was the judge for the poetry reciting.
Primary 4 enjoyed a visit and talk by Arron Johnston on Wednesday afternoon. We learned all about the Jacobites and how Bonnie Prince Charlie and his army fought at the Battle of Preston Pans against George II’s British army of Red Coats.We liked the acting and some of us got dressed up.
What a busy day we have had today. Our class had a taster session of Enjoy-a-ball and we learned how much more we can do now that we are older. Then Gary showed us how to hold the hockey stick so that we could play a challenge game. Finally, Linda from The Drama Mill got us to listen to each other performing a little sketch we had made up. 
4a also made fruity ice-lollies.

Everybody enjoyed castle day on the 14th of June. We all got to dress up as someone in a castle and all of the P4s and the teachers took part. We moved round four rooms doing different activities. We did medieval dancing with Mrs Barlow, jousting with Mrs Philips, castle technology with Mrs Little and crown making with Mrs Brodie and Mrs Burgon. My favourite was the medieval dancing. I really enjoyed every minute. (Written by Mairi)

We were really happy and we really enjoyed it. Caroline asked us to sit down and she told us a story with actions which we all managed to follow. We liked looking at all the different coloured books.
We all walked back up the hill to school with an exciting book to read.
Most of us have done quizzes on the books we read and Hugh has read the most.
In class we write up the points we get and record them on our library card. When we have read 6 books, Caroline will give us a certificate.
Some of us took a while to find a book with their range of numbers but we all managed to find a book that we liked.

We really enjoyed having a choice of language for a week. We had the choice of poetry, newspaper articles, creative writing, plays and information. It was fun and creative and we got to go into pairs to share ideas. At the end we got together to share our experiences.
