Every Friday families of under 3s can drop into the Nursery and have a wee play and a blether. More and more families are coming along so we moved out into the outdoor play area last week but this wee one was happy as can be in the ball pool. All are welcome between 1 and 3pm. Come whenever it suits you.
The weather is cold and the birds are hungry. We found a recipe to make food for the birds by looking on the internet. We printed instructions from the RSPB website. We collected all the things we needed: bird seed, raisins, oats, lard, yoghurt pots, string, scissors and a mixing bowl. We mixed up the bird cake and put it in pots. It was very sticky and we had to wash our hands. Then we took it outside and hung it in the trees for the birds to come to eat. We will check next week if they found it.
Happy New Year to all the nursery children and their families! The staff are looking forward to hearing about what all the boys and girls got up to in the holidays.

On Wednesday, for the first time at our school, we had a wee Farewell Assembly for the nursery children who are moving on to P1. The children were very pleased to get their certificates and to sing for their audience. Twinkling little stars, they all were. See you in P1.
We gave out Bookbug Pirate Packs from the Scottish Book Trust. These are for three year old children (our ante-pre-schoolers). It was lovely to meet the people who work in the library. They showed us around and read us some stories. We sang “Old Macdonald had a farm” before we got our Bookbug packs to take home.

We enjoyed our Burns supper for snack. We listened to Burns’ songs and danced to Scottish music.
