Keeping us safe
We are helping Lothian and Borders Police to keep the children at Prestonpans Infant School safe as they arrive and leave school by car.
Some parents are parking on the double yellow lines and the yellow zigzags at the school entrance. This is putting children in danger.
We are designing a large banner to remind parents not to park illegally outside our school. We have taken photos of the places drivers cannot park.
Crossing safely at the lollipop
Our Road Safety Officers interviewed the Lollipop guides and learned that there are ways we can help to make sure everyone stays safe when crossing the road. We put some of these on our noticeboard and we wrote and performed a short play about crossing safely with the lollipop guides to the primary 3 classes.
Our next piece of work will be researching travelling safely in a car and we hope to make a safety leaflet to go home with every pupil in the Infant School – so look out for those in the reading folders next term!Crossing safely with the Lollipop on PhotoPeach
