August’s P1/3 meet their teacher

On Wednesday 23 May 2012, P1/3 went to Ratho for a Family Learning Fun Morning to meet their new teacher, Mrs Wright. The sun was roasting as we learnt, ate and played together. Our new P1/3 in May 2012 on PhotoPeach

And what did the families think?
“FANTASTIC Day! Would tell everyone about our day here. Thank you so much for bringing us here. x”
“The only thing that spoiled the day was the fact we had to bring the children.”
“What a great morning!! Really good idea getting the new P1 children and parents together in a fun, relaxed environment.”
“This is a good idea for the children all to mix and play with each other that are all going to be in same class, excellent morning. And meeting their teachers.”
“Thank you for a lovely day at Ratho. Great way to introduce to the teacher and staff and other pupils and families. The day was spectacular. Thank you.”
“Excellent fun for both children and adults. Think it will help children settle into class better as they get to know classmates and teacher.”
” Good banter. Well worth doing again.”

About Sheila Laing

Having lived and worked in West Pilton, Edinburgh for 30 years, I am now really happy to be living in Port Seton and Headteacher of Prestonpans Infant School. What excites me about working in schools is the opportunity to nurture children, families and communities to learn and to celebrate life and learning. Since 2005, I have been inspired by the community of Burmese refugees in Mae Sot, Thailand, who struggle against incredible odds to give the best education possible to their children. I've been honoured to spend time with them each summer and pray the changes in Burma will give freedom to her people.
