Cockenzie & Port Seton Community Council are looking to celebrate the contribution of those who make their villages a special place to live and work. Many people give their time to enrich this community through personal commitment and dedication, or neighbourly acts of kindness.
C&PS Community Council are asking for nominations for their Community Achievement Award and Young Person Award. Five categories have been selected for 2012:
Good Neighbour,
Contribution to Youth Work,
Sports Person/Team,
Young Person and
Contribution to Community.
If you know of an individual (or group) who deserves to be recognised for their efforts over the past year why not fill in a form at the Community Centre. The form must be returned by 31 July 2012 and all awards will be presented at a ceremony in Port Seton Centre in October 2012.
Former recipients of this Community Award include local artist Andrew Crummy and former Boy’s Brigade Captain Ian Thomson, with Young Person Award going to Jack Henderson, for the ‘Jack draws Anything’ fundraising challenge and youth gymnast coaches Hayley & Stacey McDonald.
Further information on these awards can be obtained from the C&PS Community Council, who meet on the 1st Tuesday of every month – all welcome.
