9 September – Higher Education Convention

31 October – Skills Scotland Event

Consent form (which you can fill in yourself if over 16) and £5.00 per event

to Mrs Wilson in the guidance office by the end of the week.

Limited places, consent form and money both required to secure your place.

Volunteering Opportunity with East Lothian Food Bank

East Lothian Foodbank provides a valuable service in giving short-term assistance to people in our local area who suffer from food insecurity. This can happen to anyone, if a crisis such as unemployment, illness or family breakdown occurs. Preston Lodge has helped the East Lothian Foodbank this year by donating food and raising over £400 towards the costs of providing this service. Now there is an opportunity to provide additional, individual support.

East Lothian Foodbank is holding two food collection days at Tesco in Musselburgh, Haddington and North Berwick on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th July. They require volunteers to help on these days. Volunteering involves handing shopping lists to customers and sorting the food as it is handed over.

For Kayaking, Keel Boat Sailing & Dinghy Sailing you must come prepared with a full change of clothes, spare pair of trainers that you can get wet, towel and a packed lunch or money to buy some lunch.

You should report to Ms Miller’s room (Geography) at 8.30 am on the day of your activity. You may be late returning to school. If this will pose a problem regarding transport home please let Ms Miller know so we can make alternative arrangements.
