A group of 20 S1 pupils completed the first part of their Orienteering challenge on Friday. They had to use their map skills to locate 14 control points as quickly as possible and then work out the maths teasers at each point. Each correct answer gave them a time reduction to their overall time. Well done to Kirsten Provan who came in third with 17 min 45 s. This was not quite good enough to match the joint winners, Chloe Veitch and Sean McMaster who got 17 min 40 s. Chloe was fastest overall, but Sean got all the answers correct which brought him level! A special mention to Ryan McKendrick, who was the only other pupil to get all his answers correct.
This Friday completes the challenge with a special course set up at Meadowmill, good luck everyone!
