Ready, Steady, Cook (well, bake!) with the S3 German Class
Pupils in the third year German class enjoyed baking Vanillekipferl (Vanilla Moons) along with Joanna – the language assistant from Austria.
The pupils have been working on some recipes as part of their food and drink unit and decided to put Joanna’s recipe into practice. The recipe has been translated for you below.
Vanillekipferl (Vanilla Moons)
100g ground almonds
1 packet vanilla sugar
a few drops of vanilla essence
Mix the ingredients together in a bowl.
Roll out the dough then shape into little moons. Place on a baking tray and bake at 180 degrees for approximately 10 minutes.
Roll the warm moons in a mixture of vanilla sugar almonds.
