Homework help

If you are stuck doing homework and want something a little bit different with your child try out the interactive iboard player that is supplied free on-line from the Times Educational Supplement. Just click on the banner above to see maths, literacy, geography, science, history and other activites that you will enjoy doing with your child. It is set out in the English Key stages system where Key Stage 1 is  5-7 year old and Key stage 2 is 7-11 year old. Use the ones you think your child will benefit from and have fun. After all there’s never enough of that commodity around.

Crickweb is another free on-line resource that may be of interest.

Rights of the Child

This is Tam Baillie, Scotland’s Commissioner for Children and Young People. His job is to promote Children’s rights. The work of his team can be found at the SCCYP web site.

There are over 40 United Nations Rights of the Child and all people who work with children, and children themselves should be aware of them. At the Scotland’s Commissioner for Children and Young People’s website there is a good resource that explains the rights in a series of pictures. Go over them with your child, it will make for an interesting and thought provoking discussion.
