We have had a busy week. We have started to think about Christmas and have been busy decorating the nursery tree. Our shop has turned into a post office and we have been busy writing cards, stamping envelopes and posting our mail. We have baked our Christmas cake for the party and everyone thought it smelled delicious when it was cooking.
On Wednesday we visited Primary 5 who have been hatching chickens as part of their John Muir work. We all got to touch the chickens.
Next week we will be continuing to think about Christmas. We are going to make a fireplace for our house area so that we can hang our stockings up.
On Monday the morning group will be going over to the school to see the dress rehearsal of the infant nativity.
We went to visit P5 this week. They have been hatching chickens in their class.

December has arrived…that means we are starting our Christmas themed work! This week we will be talking about the traditions we all share at home at Christmas time. If anything special or unusual happens at your home, then please let us know.
We will be continuing to learn our Christmas songs, so far we have been practising ‘When Santa got stuck up the chimney’, ‘We wish you a merry Christmas’ and ‘Rudolph’.
We will also be starting some Christmas art work.
We are also planning on visiting P5 in the school as they are looking after some baby chicks as part of their John Muir work. If you have any questions about this then please speak to a member of staff.
We are continuing our where I live topic. We are continuing to learn about Scottish culture. This week we will be looking at some more books written in Scots, listening to Scottish music and making Scottish flags. Our Scottish shop will continue to be open to help us support our learning about money.
We use the gym hall in the school most days with the children, please make sure that they always have a pair of indoor shoes with them they can use.
Tuesday – The ranger will be in for our last session working with the pre-school group. The weather is forecast to be cold so please wrap up warmly.
This morning we raised £41.21 for Children in need. We came to nursery dressed in our pyjamas, iced Pudsey biscuits and made Pudsey bandages for our teddies.

Today we raised £48.32 for Children in Need by coming to nursery wearing our pyjamas. We played Pudsey games, painted a huge Pudsey and then covered it with coins. We played parachute games with our teddies in the hall and then came back to the nursery for a teddy bear’s picnic.
Well done everyone!
We were out working with the ranger again today. We were looking at different seeds and matching them to the trees they came from.
These are the photos from last week, apologies for not getting them on sooner.

We would be grateful for any donations of loose change to help us achieve our target.
