Richard, the ranger, came in this morning to work with some of our pre-schoolers. We went out into the woods to look for bugs and beasties.

Richard is coming in again next Tuesday to work with the pre-schoolers who didn’t go into the woods today. Thank you to Daniel’s Mum and George’s Mum for helping.
We will be holding learning stories open sessions on Thursday 27th June, for the morning group, and Friday 28th June, for the afternoon group. Both sessions will start at 11:15am. The session will provide an opportunity to have a look at your child’s learning story and have some refreshments. It is also chance for us to say goodbye to those moving on after the Summer holidays.
We look forward to seeing you.
We only have two weeks of term left now but we are busy as always.
Monday – Buddy playtime for pre-school children.
Tuesday – Ranger visit for pre-school children.
Wednesday – Sports day for morning children.
Thursday – Pre-school children having snack in dining hall.
Friday – Sports day for afternoon group.
We are hoping to hold our sports days outside but should the weather be wet then we will use the school gym hall.
All library books should be returned to the nursery by Friday. If you are unsure whether your child still has a book on loan then please speak to a member of staff.
We are planning on learning about Summer this week, hopefully the weather will oblige! We are also hoping to get out and plant some vegetables in the garden. We have been weeding and preparing the soil over the past three weeks, so now we can get round to planting.
Pirates ahoy! on PhotoPeach
This week the ante-preschool children have been dressing up as pirates as part of our bookbug learning.
With the end of term approaching we are still very busy. This week we are continuing learning about life under the sea and pirates.
Transition
On Tuesday evening there is a meeting for parents of preschoolers, 6:30pm in the school gym hall. On Wednesday our pre-schoolers are having a music session with our music teacher Mrs Davies and are spending some time in the P1 classroom. On Thursday we will be attending the P1 assembly in the school.
Pirates
As part of the bookbug program our ante-preschoolers will be taking part in some piratey activities. We will be having treasure hunts, stories and songs this week. Children can come in dressed as pirates on Wednesday morning and Thursday afternoon. Elspeth Pandit, the East Lothian bookbug co-ordinator, will be visiting on Thursday afternoon.
We have enjoyed being able to learn outside this week.

This week we are starting work on learning about minibeasts. We will be learning about a different minibeast each day over the next 2 weeks. We are hoping to get outside to see what we can find in the playground and the garden!
