As a parent you may often find that it’s difficult to keep on top of all the key dates that crop up during term time. That’s why the Parent Council and the School have set up an interactive calendar with all the key dates you need to know about.
To download a copy of the term dates, please click HERE.
How to make the most of this calendar
Did you know that if you already use Google services or its Calendar, you can easily subscribe to the Pencaitland Primary School calendar by clicking the logo at the bottom right, just above. You can also copy this school calendar’s events information to Microsoft Outlook. Click here for more details. Once you have added it to your own calendar, even if you’re on the go, you’ll find that there are a range of ways to keep track of, and get reminders about, upcoming dates using your mobile phone by pointing its browser* to mobile.google.com/calendar/.
If you are using the free open source email program Thunderbird with the calendar extension, this can also be used to synchronise your own calendar with that on Pencaitland Primary School dates and you can get an explanation on how to do this here.
There are lots of other ways to add the calendar to other web services and email programs. If the above doesn’t cover you, then do a web search for more tips on how to get the most from this service or visit these help pages.
*Note: only some mobile phones include browsers such as the iPhone or other smartphones.

Thanks for implementing the online Calendar. It’s going to make it so much easier to keep up-to-date with school activities.
Hi Viv
You’re welcome. It seemed like a no-brainer, given all the technology existed to make it happen. It was put together by myself with some much needed help from Peter Kingsbury at the School and David Gilmour in East Lothian Council.

Came on to check date for returning to school, only to find it not updated. Bit disappointed. Otherwise great idea.
