P6c enjoyed sharing our learning about Trinidad and Tobago by touring the school with our carnival parade. We played calypso music, accompanied by drums and dancing and visited all the classes. We even had other pupils and teachers joining it. Thanks to all the kids who took part!

P6B learn about perimeter and area
P6B have working hard all week during Maths time. We have been learning how to measure volume and capacity using ml, L and cm3.

European Success
Well done to Jamie, Marcus, Alistair and Octavia for travelling to Musselburgh to participate in this years Euro Competition.
All 4 pupils (and a few others), gave up lunch and play times to prepare for the competition. We are very proud of you al!
We did a super job at the Euro Heats and were only 3 points away from the winners. Wow, what a good effort!
Well done also to Campie Primary who are this years winners and will visit the Parliament to represent East Lothian.

P6 finish their Jacobite topic
P6 have finished their Jacobite topic.
Some of our work has been outstanding. We have written reports from the battlefield, created some lovely weapons/costumes, took part in some drama about Bonnie Prince Charlie and much, much more!

Orienteering
Yesterday, 32 pupils from P6 joined over 200 children from all over East Lothian to take part in an orienteering competition.
Our team did wonderfully and well done to Fraser Kelly who was our fastest P6 competitor.
Yester Primary School were very hard to beat and achieved a wonderful double, in winning both the P4/5 trophy and the P6/7 trophy.
The Battle of Culloden
P6 went out onto our (windy) field to re-enact the infamous Battle of Culloden. Our highland charge was enough to give any poor visitors a real fright

P6 and the Jacobites

P6 classes at Dunbar Primary this week enjoyed a visit from Bonnie Prince Charlie and his Jacobite supporter. Members of the Prestonpans Heritage trust, they shared loads of interesting stories with us while dressed in costumes of the day. We even learned about their weapons!Today P6 pupils visited Belhaven Nursing Home to give a concert with a Scottish theme. The residents really enjoyed it and the children were given tasty refreshments as a thank you.
Day for Change
Today P6 enjoyed some big changes as part of our Unicef Day For Change.

We all had different teachers for the day! A big thanks to Mr Morgan, Mr Darling, Miss Seaton and Mr Lugton who took over P6 for a super fun day.
We also had some interesting vistors including a few grannies (Robbie and Jack!), Jedward (Abigail and Lauren) and of course some lovely hair styles. Thanks to Caitlyn for her delicious chocolate cake (yum yum).
Well done to everyone for taking part and for helping to raise money for sports for development in Uganda.
