Sport Relief – Friday 23rd March

This Friday P5 will be raising awareness and money for Sport Relief.

We will be taking part in the Sport Relief Mile by either walking, jogging or running around the pitch 10 times!

Children are welcome to dress up in their sports kit for the day – football and rugby strips will be allowed for this day only.

We will also be having a bake sale – we are looking for as many children as possible to bring in cakes for this. *No nuts*

Thanks in advance for the support!

Primary 5 Christmas Party!

P5 had a fantastic afternoon yesterday at our Christmas Party – we did two traditional Scottish country dances, played many different games including pass the parcel and corners and had a disco dancing competition!

It was great to see all the boys and girls who got changed into their best party gear for it. All the children were on their best behaviour and had a fantastic party – they also had some ice cream and jelly during the break!

P5 Christmas Assembly

Primary 5 have been very busy rehearsing and preparing for the end of term assembly!

This year we are putting on a performance of Cinderella – but not the fairytale version everyone knows! We are doing the “Roald Dahl – Revolting Rhyme” version of the story so expect a twist on the normal version!

Programmes are currently being designed and made, and we are having a competition to design the ticket. The winning design will then be printed off and given to parents who should have all received a letter asking if they would like to attend.

We have been learning the songs over the last few weeks and are now beginning to put the whole show together, adding in the acting and dances – here’s hoping it’s a successful performance!

Give P5 an Oscar!

All three Primary 5 classes have been busy taking in part in a number of drama workshops over the last couple of weeks.

The drama has been about the life of John Muir, a topic which we will be learning about in more detail later in the year.

The children took part in various different games and listened to the story of John Muir’s life, before having the chance to act out different events that happened to him.

All children seemed to enjoy the activities they took part in and acted out many funny scenes!

P5 Trip to Torness Power Station

As part of our Electricity topic, a trip to Torness Power Station has been arrange for P5. We will be given a tour by one of the engineers and have the opportunity to ask any questions we may have.

We will require parental volunteers for this trip – if anyone is available, could you please get in touch ASAP as we need to get details to the power station.

Dates are as follows:

5A – 1st November

5B – 11th November

5C – 14th November.

P5 Rugby Festival!

Just a quick reminder that P5 are taking part in a Rugby festival tomorrow (Wednesday 28th September) at Haddington Rugby Club.

This has been arranged by Scott Marnoch the Rugby Co-ordinator and will take place between 10-12pm.

Can all children please remember to come in wearing their PE kit with a bottle of water and a snack for during the day.

I’m sure all children will have a fantastic day and photos will be uploaded shortly!
