I was writing a poem, when all of a sudden…my cabin door burst open. All the water burst in through the open hatch. I ran as fast as I could in my nightie – out of my cabin, through the hall way to the stairs. The water was right behind me. I tripped over the last stair. The water took over me. I felt like I was going to die but I wouldn’t stop. I got back up and dashed all the way over to the last six lifeboats. I just followed the calm, gentle music.
As soon as I got to the edge of the deck, I saw that the Titanic was tipped up. I held on a tight as I could to the railings. I thought I was going to die, but I wouldn’t give up. I was feeling so scared my heart was pumping fast – so fast that I could almost hear it over the music.
