We are holding a Potato growing competition at the nursery.  The boys and girls have already planted their potatoes and they are looking after them.  We have some other groups from the community taking part too.  If you would like to join in at home then please see Miss Hunter for details.

Judging will take place after the summer holidays and the group who has the heaviest collection of potatoes will be annouced the winner.

A Visit From the Police!

Last week we were very lucky to have the police come to nursery and talk to us about keeping safe.  PC Laura and PC Colin came to each class and told us about their jobs and how to stay safe when we are out.   In the afternoon they came back with their police car and we got to hear the loud sirens!  Here are some photos from their visit.

DRUM ROLL….please!!!!

….AND our favourite book is ‘Apple Pie ABC’ by Alison Murray.

We participated in the Scottish Booktrust Book Awards voting last week. After reading the three short listed books (‘Apple Pie ABC’ by Alison Strathie, ‘The Loon On the Moon’ by Chae Strathie and Emily Golden & ‘Dear Vampa’ by Ross Collins) we voted for our favourite book within our classes.

On Tuesday we all gathered together to count up the total votes to see which was the overall favourite. ‘Apple Pie ABC’ won with 38 votes, compared with 24 for ‘The Loon On The Moon’ and 22 for ‘Dear Vampa’.

We all enjoyed reading and talking about the books. Why not watch the videos of the authors reading their stories and answering some questions about their books, click here

Bobath fundraising

“The Bobath Centre is a specialist treatment centre providing individually tailored therapy for children who have cerebral palsy and other allied neurological conditions.”
Bobath is a charity which we have recently learned about and were keen to help out!
We decided to do a cake baking/decorating fundrasing event to help the charity. We set up a shop to sell our cakes. We raised £76.51 for Bobath.

For more info on the charity, click here >>> http://www.bobath.org.uk/

Zoo Lab Visit

Zoo Lab visitied us yesterday. We enjoyed learning about the senses of a land crab, snake, cockroaches, tree frog, tarantula and rat. Most of us were very brave and we held some of the creatures or touched them.

To see a slideshow of the photos please go to our Flicker page here.
