On Thursday Room 1 had a special visitor, Bob Mitchell. Bob is an expert on Robert Burns and all things Scottish. He introduced Robert Burns to us in preperation for our Scottish week at Nursery this week. We learned that Robert Burns lived a long time ago, was a farmer and is famous for writing poetry. We had a go at writing our own rhyme and were all very good at thinking up rhyming words.
He ended his visit by reading the Gruffalo in Scots to us.
Please ensure the children come to nursery prepared for the snowny, wet and frosty weather. Waterproof trousers and wellies or boots are essential for them to able to go out and fully enjoy the learning opportuntiies.
Some of the children have been talking about their ballet show which they will take part in very soon, so we got out our dancing box out. The children enjoyed putting on the (ballet) costumes and were fascinated by the movement of the professional dancers in the Swan Lake Youtube video. They then tried to dance along to the music/video.
It was very exciting this morning… the North Berwick High School’s torch came to the nursery. We got the chance to run alongside it. Thank you for visiting us!!! It is now on it’s way to Direlton.
We sang “The torch is on its way!” and cheered as everyone ran. To get a copy of the words, click here and to hear the song, click here
