Touché. So, I suppose, like a prestigious award recognising achievement. I'll buy that ;)
Also, 'The again' < typo!

The Green Flag is a mark of recognition for the excellent work going on under the Eco Schools banner and they are not handed out lightly - especially to secondary schools - so it is a real achievement.
No special privileges I'm afraid and we can definitely be environmentally-friendly without the award. The again, it should make us feel pretty good about ourselves.

What does having a Green Flag actually mean?
I mean, do we get special privileges, or is it just a self-assured way of making ourselves feel better about what we do? Could we not be environmentally friendly without the Green Flag?
(just out of curiosity)

Good! Thanks for the coffee :P - I was buzzing for about 8 hours after that. Helped me cycle faster, though.

Interesting career choice, you've got to admit. 'Teacher' is a little more... conventional, than 'Banana Scientist'.
I hope they were Fairtrade banana-plants xD

We are just awaiting confirmation but it all looks very positive. The inspector was very complimentary about all we are doing so thanks very much for all your help. My role as a banana scientist involved looking at banana leaves for signs of disease and trying to figure out how it got to the plants (conclusion: on the wind). The good thing was that bananas are only grown in nice warm countries and I had to go and see a lot of banana plants.

So, did we get our Green Flag? I mean, I can't imagine why we wouldn't have, there is a LOT of stuff in that timetable.

Also, what exactly is a Banana Scientist?
