The Green Flag is a mark of recognition for the excellent work going on under the Eco Schools banner and they are not handed out lightly – especially to secondary schools – so it is a real achievement.
No special privileges I’m afraid and we can definitely be environmentally-friendly without the award. The again, it should make us feel pretty good about ourselves.

What does having a Green Flag actually mean?
I mean, do we get special privileges, or is it just a self-assured way of making ourselves feel better about what we do? Could we not be environmentally friendly without the Green Flag?
