Our Museums
We currently have 5 museums open – Prestongrange, John Muir’s Birthplace and Musselburgh Museum, John Gray Centre and Dunbar Town House.
We have 1 being renovated in North Berwick.

We currently offer:
- Loan Boxes on a variety of topics
- Museums on the Move Programme – helping you create your own in-school museums
- Workshops at our Museums – Including topics like the Victorians and John Muir
- CPD for teachers – Check our listings in the Council’s CPD brochure

Just wondering if home educators can borrow the loan boxes too? We recently moved here from Falkirk & are missing their amazing Library Support for Schools service which was available to home educators. Loan boxes would really help

Yes, you can borrow loan boxes or come to any of our museums for a visit (either self-led or by a Museum Assistant, just have a look at our schools programme and get in touch to book!
