Following discussions at the last Parent Council Meeting (May 2012), it has been agreed to set up a working party between parents and school staff to work together on ways to encourage responsible use of phones with the school environment.  This is following feedback that inappropriate phone use is disrupting teaching and the learning environment.  We’ll keep you posted on this issue, over the coming months.  Any suggestions, thoughts or parent/carer who would be interesting in being involved, please contact us, via email or the school.

During 2011, the Parent Council put together a successful bid for funding to enable the creation of a dedicated area for S1 and S2 pupils to use at lunchtimes and breaktimes, and even for outdoor learning during the better weather.  We have secured funding to be able to purchase seating and tables, plants and art materials to create murals that the pupils will design themselves.  This project will be completed in 2012 and we will keep you posted on the details, in due course.  Thanks to the parents who have already volunteered to come along and help – we will be in touch once dates are finalised.
