Higher Homework – China

Published by under Uncategorized

Homework reminder:  Find a YouTube clip that is relevant to the topic of China, it can be anything at all to do with the topic e.g.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWsXhNJFj78.

Watch the clip.  Post a link here and a comment about the clip.  How useful is the clip?  What is it about?  Where did it come from?  See the example below if you are unsure.

Comment:  This clip is from ABC Australia and covers internet usage in China.  Useful but be wary of this YouTube member as many of the clips he/she has posted have a strong political message and so may be biased.

If you can’t find a clip then post a link to a news article: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/7780477.stm  This one is about How China has had to learn to live with reform because of the many and varied changes it has undergone in recent decades.

Another clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyDg_mkfyfE

This one is from a documentary called Inside Story on Al Jazeera English.   As China celebrates three decades of market-oriented reforms, Inside Story looks at how the global financial crisis is affecting the world’s second-largest economy.  Very Useful.

This is a very useful site for Standard Grade, Higher and Advanced Higher. Membership to the MSA is a snip at only £20 a year and the conference, which is held on the first Saturday of November, is a great chance to share good practice.  The MSA website is: http://www.msa-scotland.co.uk/
