Vous désirez?

P5/6 at Athelstaneford decided to prepare an end of term French Assembly for the rest of the school this week. Everyone had great fun learning the alphabet with them and singing “La tête, les épaules et les genoux”! Here they are singing our café song “Vous désirez?”. Un grand bravo!

Nous vous souhaitons à tous et à toutes de bonnes vacances et croisons les doigts pour le soleil !!

Nos profs de français nous rendent visite!

P7 were all delighted to meet their French teachers from the High School recently. They brought a booklet for us to fill in which we will take into S1 with us. We wrote all about ourselves using the French we know so far (which is lots!). Here are some examples for you from Law. Bravo à tous – vous avez bien travaillé! Amusez-vous bien au collège!

Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras is the day before Lent which is a period of fasting so before that you get to eat all the fatty, sugary foods which is just what the P5,6,7s at Dirleton did today! Et oui.. on aime les crêpes! Voici la recette et merci à James pour les photos et un grand bravo à tous.. vos crêpes étaient délicieuses (et la cuisine bien rangée!)

Chez moi

In P7 we have all been learning to talk about where we live and describe our houses. We have enjoyed using Google Street View to show our houses and talk about them in class.

Here are some photos for us of the letters Gullane P7 have written to their penfriends in France to tell them all about their houses.

Pirouette Cacahuète

“Il était un petit homme.. ” We have been having fun listening to the story of Pirouette Cacahuète. Here is a video of the song for us .. only we know what really happened in the end  “le beau fil s’est cassé et le bout du nez s’est envolé!”

Ma Famille

For all the P6 classes who are going to be telling us about their families soon here is a presentation from Gullane for you to listen to. Bravo les filles!

Meilleurs voeux!

The chorus means

“A happy Christmas

A very happy New Year

We come to wish you

All our wishes for happiness and prosperity

and especially good health”

Je vous souhaite à tous et à toutes un joyeux Noël et une très bonne année!
