You may have been hearing a lot about the film ”Les Misérables” (The Wretched”). “Les Misérables” is a very famous French historical novel by Victor Hugo which is also famous as a musical. Here is one of the songs Cosette sings. She is the little girl in the film who is unkindly treated by the people looking after her and dreams of “un château dans les nuages” (a castle in the clouds) with “une dame vêtue de blanc” (a lady dressed in white) who sings her a lullaby.
It’s carnival time! Everyone is dressing up, partying and having fun before Lent. There are lots of famous carnivals in the world. Can you find out about any of them? Here is a video of the one in Nice in the south of France.
