The Primary 5s
We have been learning about Light and Sound in Primary 5. We have looked at shadows, reflections and even seen inside a human eye! (Well, not really… just a diagram on the whiteboard!)
We had Miss Beaton and 5A’s fab assembly about making our school even more ECO friendly! Well done!
Miss Hackett’s class have been making their shadow puppets ready for their assembly in 2008!
Well done to all the skippers who now look exhausted after hours and hours of exercise in the gym hall today!
Seashore Topic Primary 5 were very busy at the beginning of term! We have been learning about the Seashore and we have already been on our first trip to the beach with the countryside ranger. The ranger showed us all the interesting sea creatures and told us all about the beach. In class we have also been discussing safety at sea and have been lucky enough to have had a talk from the local coastguard! Next week we will visit the RNLI station in North Berwick where we will find out about rescues at sea.
Everyone in Law Primary took part in lots of healthy activites during health week which took place between Monday 3rd September and Friday 7th September. Primary 5 had the chance to try various sports including hockey, golf, athletics, judo and water polo, which everyone really enjoyed! As well as taking part in physical activites to help us keep fit, we also learned about how to have a healthy and balanced diet. We all went to a smoothie making workshop where we were given a talk from the Food Lab team, then we created our own smoothies. We tried lots of new fruits and learned about the benefits these have to our bodies. Primary 5 also enjoyed a fruit and vegetable tasting session. Some people tried things they had never tried before which was fantastic! Afterwards, some classes conducted surveys about what each person’s favourite fruit was then they displayed the results on bar charts and pictograms. At the end of the week, the whole school joined together for aerobics in the middle area playground. The primary 7s, assisted by the Active Schools Coordinator, demonstrated all the moves to help keep our bodies moving! We were all thoroughly worn out by the end of the week, however, it was great fun and we can’t wait until Health Week again next year!
P5B 18th-21th Sept
This week in 5B, we had dynamic earth, seabird centre ,and y dance. It was fun. I enjoyed it all. Dynamic Earth taught us about fossils, climate change, the greenhouse effect and global warming and how they’ve affected seabirds and sea creatures.
In Y Dance, we are learning new dance moves to cool music. Alec helps us to learn them.
We’ve been putting up some of our work onto the walls so that our parents and relatives can see them. We have also done a heathly survay we did not win so that taugt us to eat more fruit. We have also done basketball i lerend how to shoot. We all have really enjoyed this week and being heathly.

Ali Sparkes came to my class
Ali Sparkes came to my classroom to sign books she told us a bit about herself and her books she was very nice. As an activity recently we’ve been reading Ali Sparkes and Theresa Breslin books. She is a really good author and so is Theresa but Ali won in a class vote.

Hi, I read this prank on the BBC website – In 1987, a young British broadcaster called Chris Morris let off helium into the BBC Bristol studio, causing the newsreader’s stories to reach a higher and higher pitch. Chris lost his job. Tee hee!!!
Here’s another one – Get up really early and sneak into your victims bathroom and fill their hair-dryer with baby powder. And when they turn it on, their head will be pure white just like an old person.
I do this to my dad all the time and it makes him mad – Stick a post-it note under your friend’s mouse so that the paper leaf covers the mouse ball – the mouse will no longer work! Align so that the sticky part of the note doesn’t touch the ball. Costs next to nothing to do, and doesn’t cause any damage.
