We went into the big hall to hear about Arabic and how Muslims have to learn it, write it and remember it. It looked amazing! After this we went down to the washrooms, they had sinks and soap. We enjoyed looking at the writing that they wrote and a picture of a VERY busy Mosque.

We also went to the Synagogue on Tuesday. When we went inside the first thing most of saw was brilliantly coloured windows. After sitting down lots of things got passed around, including the yad. A yad is used to point at the Torah, their religious scroll. It was lots of fun. After this we went into a big hall!

We learnt about Danish food, famous people, their home school, their capital city and holidays in Denmark. They did their presentations on their second day in Scotland, their first day at our school. We enjoyed leaning about Danish facts and FOOD!!!!!!

We went with Sam the ranger and our special Danish visitors. When we were with the Danish they were very excited because they had never ever been to North Berwick beach before. We enjoyed spending time with the Danish and they learned a lot of stuff about sea creatures.

When we went rock pooling the first thing we did was go to the lower shore where we found lots of sea creatures with the Danish like hermit crabs , mini crabs, large crabs and some of us even found eggs. Then we went to the middle shore and found fish.

We had lots of fun with the Danish when we went rock pooling!!!!!

The three authors were Barry Hutchison, who we were championing, Lari Don and Lucinda Hare. There was going to be three different schools there but Macmerry dropped out so someone from Haddington took their place and did a summary of one of Lucinda Hare’s books. Wallyford made shadow puppets to bring Lari Don’s books to life. And finally we made book trailers for our favourite Invisible Fiends books. We were delighted when they announced that Barry Hutchison had won. Afterwards we met him, he was very friendly and generously signed our scripts. He’s going to put our trailers on his website along with a picture of us with him which you can see right here.

It was based at the back of The Law on the rock face. The hosts Bill and Martin also taught us about how to put your helmet on, put on your harness and what the belay master does. We it was a fantastic time!

We had lots of fun doing interactive games like showing that air is made up of molecules by lighting a candle on top of a pupils head and firing an air cannon to blow it out. It was 1hour. We also made a song using lots of different instruments. We will upload the clip to the blog as soon as possible.

We went up the Law to finish our John Muir award. We helped take tree tubes of the trees that were stuck because it would suffocate them. We helped around 120 trees .It was tricky to cut the tree tubes but we did around about 3-5 trees each. All this meant there was about 30-32 bags. We also learnt a little more about the nature on the Law.

We have decided to make a play about fair trade to tell people about how hard it can be for farmers and how important it is for the farmers to get a fair wage. We are also doing a radio show on East Coast FM about fair trade. You can tune into our show this Thursday, 6-7pm, at www.eastcoastfm.co.uk. We are trying to encourage people to buy fair trade products to help the farmers who are not currently benefiting from fair trade. Fairtrade products often cost more but you’re making a big difference to their families and communities.
