My favourite book by Ali Sparkes is Monster Maker because the monsters are all really cool.
She made Mrs Macniven draw a teletubby but she did’nt know what it was so it ended up really funny.

I loved it when Ali Sparkes came to visit p5.She told us all about how many times she had been turned down but to never give up she even got mrs macniven up to draw a thing with a human like body, big googly eyes that never close, something weird coming out of its head and tiny people in its body but it turned out to be po from the tellytubbys.she was was really funny and inspired us to read more of her books and even write some ourself.
A famous author called Ali Sparks came to school because we won the Lennox Author Award for p5. She was telling us what things you would need to do if you wanted to be a good author and get your book published, she was quite funny too when she was doing the scary voices with this plastic pringel box. The people with an Ali Sparks book even got it signed by Ali Sparks I did.
Ail Sparkes Vist!
Ail Sparkes came to are school because we won the Lennox Author Award. She told us about being an author and about some of her books getting turned down but she didn’t give up she finely got it published by oxford.
The Ali Sparks visit was very cool. She was really funny. She described something as it was a horrible, scary and daunting but it was just a tellytuby! She answered some of our questions and she answered in lots of detail. (More than I expected actually). It was awesome.
The visit from Ali sparks was AMAZING. She was really inspiring she was also really funny. Here first book out was a 5 book series called shape shifter I’ve not read it yet but I really want to it sound amazing. It actually took Ali Sparks a while to get shape shifter out. Ali made Mrs Macniven try to draw a telli tubbie by just explaining the telli tubbie it didn’t turn out very well.
I really enjoyed when Ali sparks came in and talked to us she is really funny and inspiring person. She has inspired me to write stories Ali sparks came into are school because we won a compition I am really happy that she came thanks Ali sparks.
Ali Sparkes came in to speak to p5 because we won the competition for the best book reviews of books by Ali Sparkes and Terisa Breslin. She told us about how she became an author and all the books that she has written. Next some people from each class got to ask her questions. The last thing we did was that anyone that had a book by Ali Sparkes got there book signed. She also gave everyone in p5 a card signed by her. She was really funny all the way through and everyone enjoyed her coming in.
I really liked it when Ali Sparkes came to visit us because she was my first actual famous person I have ever met. It was really funny and good fun. When she made Mrs Macniven draw a picture of something and then showed us what she had of the same description it was actually Po from the tellytubbies.

I really enjoyed seeing Ali Sparks she is a great author also she is really funny .I read ant attack by ali sparks it is a really good book. me and my friend gave her a letter and she really liked it. I really liked listening to her she brought a tellytubbie with her she asked mrs macniven to draw the tellytubbie it was a really funny drawing
When Ali Sparkes came to visit us she told us all about how the description of things is very important and how lots of times when she was writing her books they got turned down by the publishers. She also told us how when you are just about to give up you shouldn’t. She got Mrs Macniven up and started describing what sounded like a ferocious beast but turned out to be Po from the teletubbies! She was really friendly and funny and I hope that she can come again. I also like the sound of her books and might try reading some of them and even start writing some of my own!
I had a fantastic time when Ali Sparkes came in to our school. She was great fun. My favourite part was when Ali was saying scary descriptions and it ended up as Po from the tellytubbies, everyone started to burst out laughing and I was one of them. I really enjoyed it when Ali came in. I will never forget that day when she came in.
Ali Sparks came to are school and she signed are books. I brought a book called Frog Freak Out. It was two books in one. The other one is called Newt Nemesis. I liked Frog Freak Out the best.
I think the visit from Ali Sparkes it was really fun and it was funny when she got Mrs MacNiven to draw a crazy drawing and then when she took the thing out of the bag it turned out to be Po from the tellytubies. It was a great honour to see her she is my favourite author.

Three things she said that I found interesting was that she got turned down a lot of times trying to get some of her books published, she wrote her first book, Webster week out, when she was in high school and her children inspired her to write one of her books.
My favourite Ali Sparkes book is The Shapeshifter – Stirring The Storm because it is very gripping and exciting.

Ali told us that description is good and it paints a picture in are head. She said she loves reading she also told us she wants to turn all her book s into games.

Ali Sparks was here because Law Primary school won the book reveiw competition for the Lennox author award. I found it interesting that she tried so many times at being an author and kept failing but in the end she did it. It is also interesting that she uses peoples names that she knows and she builds pictures in peoples heads and then tricks them. At the Lennox author award me and my mum, Katharine, Emily, Neil and his mum, Ronan, Cera and her mum, Owen, Sophia, Sarah, Mrs Baily and of course Theresa Breslin, Ali Sparks and Johnny O’ Brien were there. There were different schools from East Lothian did presentations exept our school wich asked questions. In the end Ali Sparks won the competition and all the authors signed our books, this was all on East Coast F.M. It was on the eleventh of May at the Corn Exchage in Haddington.
Ali Sparkes came to Law Primary to tell us about how she became an author. About her books, and what you do to become an author. I found how she had written the Shapeshifter series and all the sending off her stories bit interesting. I also found it funny when Mrs.Macniven drew the weird, red monster! My favourite book is definetely ‘Findind The Fox’, first of the Shapeshifter series. I liked it because of all the drama inside! I went to the Lennox Author Award to. Ali Sparkes won for the best voted Author that was there. Theresa Breslin and Johnny O’Brien was there to!
Ali Sparkes came to school because we did the best book reviews and said her favourite game was “streets of rage!”Suprisingly and her first book was called Webster Week out and that Shape Shifter Finding the fox originated from Dax and the Cola club that penguin books rejected. my favourite Ali Sparkes book is Ant Attack because it is very exciting and sometimes quite scary.
AIi Sparkes the famous author came to us only because we had the best book reveiws for the Lennox Author Award so she came to see us.She told us lots of interesting things about her but the three things that stood out to me are she was rejected more than five times,writ her first book when she was in High School and she also liked computer games

She talked to us my top 3 is she kept on failing to be an author , she hated reading and writing when she was young and she came second on a writing competition. My favourite book is Monster Maker Eletrotaur and Slashermite because I like monsters and the front cover catched my eye.

Ali Sparks was here because we won the review challenge and lots of school in East Lothian enterd this challenge,but we were the lucky winners.She said to never give up when you have been turned down and if you like to write stories to make sure it intresting and the other thing I also like the bit when Ali brought Mrs Macniven out to the front and Mrs Macniven had to draw what Ali was describing and it was supposed to be a teletubies. My favourite book she has written was Dark summer because it was an adventure and fantacy book and i like that style of book.

She told us that she hated reading in school and when she tried to publish her books she failed mostly. She once got a call from Oxford University Press and they wanted to publish her book. She talked about all the times she sent a book to a publisher and how none of them could get published. My favourite book by Ali Sparkes is called Frozen In Time which I haven’t finished yet because it has 325 pages!

The three things that I found most interesting were… she got turned down alot of times, she did not get her ideas from anywhere she just got them out of her head and at school she was not a very good reader or writer. My favourite Ali Sparkes book was Shapeshifter because it was funny, scary, exiting and had lots of cliffhangers.
