There has been much excitement and anticipation in primary 5 over the past few weeks over the decision on who would be the Junior Apprentices 2010. The final decision was made in the boardroom with a panel of judges, including Lady Alana Sugar and it came down to a final of 3 teams who made their presentations and then hoped for the best. After much deliberating the results were posted on a noticbeoard for all to see in the middle are.
Every pupil in primary 5 was given an opportunity to vote for the winner in their own classrooms. The vote was done anonymously so that it was fair and people were not just voting for their friends.
Congratulations to the the three winners who were Kate, Daisy and Holly in primary 5A who did a design for a Gizmo Gadget Chair.

The junior apprentice challenge was fun! Grace, Isabella, Zoe.O and Me where in a team. Our product was called Dogbot. Dogbot is a robot dog that has a kettle and a toaster on the back end of him. He has an orange slit at the side for photocopying things, and a purple slit for laminating things. His ears work as a sewing machine and the wheels make a noise that only pets can hear and calms them down, so on bonfire night your pets will not be hiding under the sofa begging for mercy. If you say a command he will obey it. It is at the price £299.99. The target buyers where anyone who wants to have fun and a pet.

I made the Jet Chair with Robin and Euan the price was £179.99 which I think is a really good price because it’s got a Jet pack and a really comfy leather seat with a plasma T.V on it you’ll never be laughed at again by bullies! Bullies will be jealous of you for having a really cool Jet Chair.
My group was me Georgina and Grace. We invented Dog Bot a robot dog that can calm your pets down, and play with your pets. If you slot material into its ears it will sew them up into whatever you want. It has two slots one to laminate and another to photo-copy. It walks around on wheels. I found the junior apprentice really fun and it encouraged me to make up my one inventions by myself.
In the Junior apprentice Georgina, Isabella, Zoe.O and I invented Dogbot. Dogbot is a robot dog that does whatever you say. On the body it has a purple slit and an orange slit. The purple slit is a photocopier and the orange slit is a laminator. The ear’s can make clothes for you but only if you put fabric on the ear’s, then the ear’s go down into the head, after about one minute it pop’s back up with a top or trouser’s or a hat. ect. On the back of Dogbot there is a toaster and joint into it is a kettle and when you say “I want tea” the tail will go in and then ten second’s later it will come out with a teacup on his tail and then it will pour tea down. Dogbot also makes a noise that will calm your pet’s down. The price is £150 and the target buyer is everyone over the of five.
Liam, Copeland, Thomas and I invented a new console game. It was something like an X box. It let you play games such a P
lay Station games and Wee games but it also had a popcorn machine in it. First we talked about what we wanted to invent, then we all drew a plan of it. Next we compared our drawings and decided which Ideas were the best .
I liked chair with the fridge and I thought it deserved to come first.
In the junior apprentice challenge me, Ben and Fraser made a robot called teddy bear 3000 it is basically a robot that does anything you want it to do. Like making breakfast, lunch and dinner and it will also bring you a snack. It plays video games and sport he doesn’t play rugby and American football because they are to rough for him. It costs £49.99 and I would recommend to elderly and it’s 3+.
I made a invention with Liam, Alex a and Cameron. We all invented the Game Bug. The Game Bug can play all sorts of games like x box, wii, game boy, play station 1 2and 3 all in the one Game Bug. It also has a pop corn machine and you can get different flavours . The flavours are strawberry, normal, toffee, chocolate, salted, cheesy, buttered and ice cream. It costs 300£. You can get different colours like orange, blue, yellow, green, black, white and red.

It comes in every colour and it has a popcorn machine attached to it that comes in different flavors. Its called game bug. We didn’t win the competition but I had a lot of fun
We did a junior Apprentice challenge and you had to design an awesome gadget in a group of three. I was in a group with Tom and David and we made the electric football kit. We had fun designing it because we like drawing the pictures.
I found the apprentice challenge really fun, the people in my group were Ewan bell Ruri black and Jack bailey our idea was a super calculator with a built in computer and it everything you need for school. It has a ruler, pop out rubber ,pencil holder and music player so you can listen to your favourite tunes.
For the competition Vicky, Ella and I designed the ARH which stands for the Adjustable Robot Hand. It had an on and off button in case you wanted to turn it on or off, flexible fingers, a stretchy pole which the hand is attached to, microphones on the fingertips and mini buttons to control the hand. It is mainly for parents and old people because they are the people that would need it most. It costs £59.99. (Costs may vary.)
I loved the junior apprentice it was so fun because you got to work with groups to think of a design that you would enter in the competition. It was really hard to choose from all the designs that our group thought of but eventually we managed to decide on one of the designs it was a super sucker machine it did just what it sounds like in its name.
I had a lot of fun designing my group’s (me, Grace and Vikki’s) invention, the Robot Hand. I also enjoyed seeing all the other inventions. I feel very happy for Kate, Daisy and Holly, the winners of Junior Apprentice. I’ll tell you a bit about the Robot Hand, it can come in any colour you can imagine, can survive unimaginable heats, is super strong, is voice controlled and can stretch up to 10 metres. It was so much fun and I hope it will happen again some time.

My team members were James and Euan . Our design was the Auto Car Zoom but unfortunately we came second behind the gizmo gadget chair .Our design is a car that drives for yourself!. It senses the sun and the air depending what the weather is like. It also comes in any possible colour you like. In our design we coloured our one yellow. It comes with free cans of vinyl in case you change your mind on the colour. The car is £13,000. I like our design because it is original and there is nothing else like it. I think it is going to be invented properly in the future. It is targeted for lazy people and journalists because they can have a nap on long journeys. I hope I am alive when it is invented because I will definitely buy it.
Me, Ciaran and Thea invented the CCTV clock. Around the clock instead of wood it is rubber so if it falls it won’t brake. Inside the clock hands there are little cameras and on the back there’s a screen so you can see what happened in the room. Even though we weren’t the winner or runners up we had fun doing the junior apprentice.
Robbie, Ben and me made the super car it was a car with a pool table and table tennis in the back. In the front there is three seats it is a pretty good car. It costs £9,000 and it is for drivers who have just passed there drivers test. It has a cool design on it witch is a flame it has lots of grip on the wheels. If it was real I would really want my dad to buy it.
For the junior Apprentice my group members were Kerra and Daisy and we made a pencil, that if you speak into it, it wrote what you said. It came with a fluffy cover and you could decorate the stand. It drew pictures as well and it was fun drawing the picture of the pencil.
I am amazed at the gizmo gadget chair it looks amazing if it was in the shops I would get it. The reason I like the gizmo gadget chair is that it has a fridge in it. You can also take it out side and it is an armchair. I am glad Daisy, Kate, and Holly won the competition they really deserve it.
In the junior apprentice me, Tadgh and Harvey made a robot which ran on a circuit. The circuit could go on the wall or the floor it had a TV in it as well. It could go to the fridge to get a drink or you could put a drink in it because it had a fridge inside it. It costs £65 and the target buyers are people that are lazy.
Cameron, Euan and I made a car called an auto car. It has two buttons, one makes it run on warm air and one makes it run on cool air. It has a built in satnav and it has sensors on the front and back so it knows when to turn and when to stop at red lights. It has unlimited speed and will always run within the speed limit. It comes with 2 free cans of vinyl which is a spray paint you put on you car and it only costs £13,000. Its target buyer is lazy people because they can take a nap while the car is taking them to their destination. Cameron, Euan and I came runner-up. We were very pleased.
My team members are Holly and Kate we were the winners of the junior apprentice. Our invention was the gizmo gadget chair, it is a armchair. The thing that makes the gizmo gadget chair cool is that it has a heater in the seat, a mini fridge, draws and wheels on the bottom so you can bring it outside. It has a assortment of colours, that include pink, green and many more.
