We have received further clarification from school regarding HE provision which we thought you would be interested to see:
In S1 Home Economics is running as part of the ACE Fridays curriculum. Pupils work in the department for 3 hours a week for a third of the year (13/14 weeks). During this time they will undertake a mixture of practical and theoretical tasks, therefore, if a pupils cooks for an ACE Friday morning, they will have done the equivalent of cooking for 3 lessons under the old timetabling arrangement.
In S2, there is a similar arrangement whereby pupils attend Home Economics for a third of the year three times a week, however, in this case the lessons are not on the same day, rather they are spread through the week.

I was quite shocked to hear that my daughter decorated a digestive biscuit today in HE! I recall her doing just that at nursery!! This is the first bit of “cooking” she’s done this term. Ho, hum….
